President Lee Jae-myung has directed the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Justice to review any unreasonable burdens faced by teachers in preparing school events. It has been pointed out that school field trips are decreasing because teachers bear the sole responsibility for accidents.

Ahn Young-joo, an elementary school teacher with 19 years of experience, stated that both students and parents are hesitant about field trips, and teachers themselves face significant burdens, from planning to accountability for accidents.

President Lee Jae-myung has ordered the collection of opinions from teachers, parents, and others through public discussions, and instructed the Ministries of Education and Justice to review whether teachers face unreasonable burdens. The Ministry of Education plans to announce specific measures, including ways to strengthen teacher immunity, by next month. The ministry indicated it is considering ways to ensure field trips can be operated successfully without imposing a significant burden on teachers. Choi Eun-ok, Vice Minister of Education, stated that policies, including measures to strengthen teacher immunity in the event of accidents, are scheduled to be announced within the next month.
