POSTECH Develops Technology for Rapid Transfer of Electronic Components

모민철모민철 기자· 5/4/2026, 7:35:50 PM· Updated 5/4/2026, 7:35:50 PM

A POSTECH research team has opened the door to ultra-high speed and high-precision manufacturing processes by developing an innovative continuous transfer technology for electronic components using rollers. The developed R2S2P technology precisely controls the adhesion of fine protrusions on a multi-layered special stamp through roller pressure, enabling continuous component transfer, much like a printing roller applies ink to paper. This technology achieves a processing speed of 0.34 seconds per 1 cm² area.

This technology enhances process flexibility and can be applied to the manufacturing of large-area electronic devices such as large displays, solar panels, and wearable healthcare sensors.

This research achievement has been published as a cover story in the online edition of the international academic journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, a leading publication in the field of materials science. The research was supported by the Basic Research Program of the Ministry of Science and ICT.
