Hormuz Ship Explosion: Mounting Pressure for South Korea's Military Involvement?
An explosion of unknown cause occurred on a South Korean vessel docked in the Strait of Hormuz, but there were no casualties. Around 8:40 PM yesterday, an explosion and fire broke out on the side of the engine room of an HMM-owned vessel anchored in the Strait of Hormuz.
At the time of the explosion, there were a total of 24 people on board, including 6 South Korean crew members and 18 foreign nationals. All crew members were confirmed to be unharmed. The fire has been extinguished, and the ship is scheduled to be towed to a nearby port.
The U.S. President designated this as an Iranian attack and pressured South Korea to participate in military operations.
