Gwangju High School Student Stabbed in Attack

An unfortunate incident occurred around midnight today (the 5th) on a street in Cheomdan-dong, Gwangju, where a second-year female high school student, 'A', was fatally stabbed.

The assailant, whose identity is unknown, attacked student 'A' with a weapon. A male student, 'B', who rushed to the scene after hearing screams, was also confirmed to have been injured. The two students did not know each other.

Female student 'A' was transported to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries. Male student 'B' is receiving treatment at the hospital and his life is not in danger.

Police plan to investigate the exact circumstances of the incident, including interviewing male student 'B' once he has recovered, and identifying the perpetrator whose identity is not yet known.
