Han Dong-hoon protests travel ban as 'election interference'
Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the People Power Party (PPP), has protested the travel ban imposed on him, calling it 'election interference.' Han's side views the measure as having been taken for political purposes ahead of the general election.
On the 5th, Han announced on Facebook that the second comprehensive special prosecutor's office had imposed a travel ban on him. He referenced the case of the Marine Corps special counsel last year, where he was placed under a travel ban but the investigation concluded without his testimony, criticizing the current special prosecution as a repetition of politically motivated investigations that conclude without thorough inquiry.
Han pointed out that the Democratic Party did not summon him as a witness for the parliamentary investigation aimed at withdrawing the indictment against Lee Jae-myung, arguing that political special prosecutors repeatedly engage in mere 'shows.'
