Woo Sang-ho, a preliminary candidate for Gangwon Province governor from the Democratic Party, announced his plans to create jobs for young people and develop Gangwon Province by attracting domestic and foreign companies and industrializing its clean resources. Woo pointed to the serious outflow of young people from Gangwon Province and stated that to resolve this, he would attract leading overseas corporations and major domestic enterprises to create jobs where young people can work with pride.

Furthermore, he presented a vision to leverage the 'pristine Gangwon' advantage not merely for environmental preservation, but as an opportunity to industrialize the province's resources such as forests, agriculture, water, wind, and sunlight. He aims to usher in an era where companies build factories in Gangwon to utilize its clean energy in the future.

Woo, who received the Democratic Party's 'No. 1 nomination,' began his political career in his hometown of Gangwon Province at the suggestion of President Lee Jae-myung. He expressed his determination to dedicate his remaining political life to the development of Gangwon. Woo explained that for regions with poor financial conditions like Gangwon Province, central government support is crucial, and his experience as Senior Presidential Secretary and his network within the central party can be assets for Gangwon.

If elected governor, his top priority would be job creation to attract young people back to the province. His plans include attracting new investments from overseas and domestic large corporations, fostering the secondary and tertiary food processing industry for agricultural products, and activating the forestry industry to establish it as the province's signature industry.
