Crackdown on Trafficking Route, 6 Teen Girls Rescued
Police rescued six minor girls, aged 13 to 17, during an operation aimed at combating human trafficking. The operation was led by the Portland Police Human Trafficking Unit (HTU) and the East Precinct on April 15.
Investigators are continuing to build cases against perpetrators and buyers, prioritizing victim identification and protection.
Given that victims are often reluctant to report crimes or proceed with legal action, police are continuing their investigations using a victim-centered and trauma-informed approach.
