Democratic Party's Jeonbuk Chapter Declares 'One Team', Candidates Vow Regional Development

The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province chapter of the Democratic Party announced the launch of its 'one team' system at its first official press conference following the primary elections for local election candidates.

The party has set the recovery of people's livelihoods through cooperation with the government as its top priority, and mentioned overcoming the existential crisis in the eastern region, which is facing a sharp population decline and economic recession.

Yang Chung-mo, a preliminary candidate for Namwon Mayor, pledged to normalize Namwon's finances based on his experience in central government ministries. Han Deuk-soo, a preliminary candidate for Imsil County Governor, stated he would resolve any post-primary friction through harmony. Choi Young-il, a preliminary candidate for Sunchang County Governor, vowed to make Sunchang a 'holy land of universal welfare' by introducing basic income for rural and fishing areas.

The Democratic Party plans to officially enter the election campaign starting with the Honam region candidate convention on May 12th.
