Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon Shares Urban Policy Experience in Hanoi

Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon attended the '2025 Seoul-Hanoi Urban Policy Sharing Forum' held in Hanoi on the 5th (local time) to share Seoul's experiences in waterfront development and smart city policies. With approximately 100 Hanoi officials in attendance, the Seoul Metropolitan Government introduced its waterfront development process, which transformed from flood control in the 1970s to creating recreational spaces along the Han River, and its expertise in digital city operations using big data. The city presented achievements in enhancing citizen convenience, such as public free Wi-Fi and the Climate Companion Card, and discussed future cooperation plans.

On the same day, Mayor Oh met with Bui Dai Thang, the new Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, to discuss cooperation centered on 'waterfront innovation' and 'smart cities'.

Following this, he visited Hanoi University, where he introduced Seoul Metropolitan Government policies and study abroad programs to about 400 students in the Korean language department, actively working to attract talent.
