Government Ramps Up AI Talent Development for SMEs

The government is designating and operating AI-specialized training centers to alleviate the shortage of artificial intelligence (AI) talent in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The AI utilization education center, established at the Gyeongbuk IT Convergence Industry Technology Institute, is equipped with a practical training environment including computers, servers, and data centers. This center will provide practical skills enhancement training for workers in SMEs in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions, focusing on manufacturing process analysis and quality improvement applicable to industrial sites.

This support for nurturing AI specialists is expected to reduce the digital gap between prime contractors and their partners, contributing to a decrease in defect rates and an increase in productivity. Furthermore, it can serve as a catalyst for accelerating digital transformation across the automotive and machinery parts industries, which are key sectors in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region.
