Seoul Mayoral Race Begins as Candidate Registration Closes; Jung Won-oh, Oh Se-hoon Advance to Main Contest

On June 14th, candidate registration for the Seoul mayoral election in the 10th National Simultaneous Local Elections concluded. Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-oh and People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon completed their registrations and have officially entered the election campaign. Both candidates are competing by presenting their respective visions to win the citizens' choice.

After completing his registration, People Power Party candidate Oh Se-hoon criticized Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-oh, stating, "Candidate Jung chose to flee instead of explaining. We cannot entrust Seoul to a candidate who lacks the courage to face Seoul citizens and is left only with false explanations."

Democratic Party candidate Jung Won-oh, after registering on the same day, indicated his willingness to debate by proposing, "Only one TV debate will be held the night before early voting, where candidates can present their visions and be vetted by voters. Let's debate until Seoul citizens feel it's enough."
