AI Surpasses Deepfakes to Breach Personal Data, Intensifying Privacy Invasion
Artificial intelligence (AI) is threatening privacy by spreading deepfake crimes that synthesize bodies into sexual content without consent, and by leaking personal information. Adult content creators claim their works are used without permission for AI training, leading to the replication of their likenesses and bodies to create explicit content, yet legal safeguards are virtually nonexistent.
Instances of generative AI exposing individuals' sensitive contact information are also increasing. One software developer revealed that his AI chatbot, 'Gemini', exposed his phone number, after which he received WhatsApp messages. A university researcher discovered a colleague's private mobile number through a chatbot, and a Reddit user reported that Gemini directed people seeking lawyers to their personal phone number. Experts speculate that these privacy breaches occur because personally identifiable information is included in AI training data.
Tesla's Semi electric truck is rolling off the production line, signaling a shift in road transportation. The electric truck is launching approximately 10 years after its initial unveiling by Elon Musk. Large trucks account for a significant portion of road transport emissions, but electric alternatives have struggled with issues like cost, range, and charging. Tesla believes the Semi can address these challenges, with the truck capable of traveling up to 480 miles on a single charge and offering substantial cost savings compared to competing models.
