PPP Campaign Chief Jang Dong-hyuk Visits Honam Region to Seek Support

Jang Dong-hyuk, Senior Campaign Committee Chairman for the People Power Party (PPP), will visit the Honam region, an area known to be difficult for conservative parties, to appeal for support. With just 18 days remaining until the June 18 local elections, Chairman Jang will attend the 'North Jeolla Election Committee Launch Ceremony and Victory Resolution Rally' in Jeonju, North Jeolla Province, on the 16th. He will encourage the PPP's candidate for North Jeolla Provincial Governor and candidates for local government positions. He is also expected to request voter support by emphasizing the necessity of blocking the 'Prosecution Cancellation Special Prosecutor Act' (Prosecution Cancellation Special Bill). This visit is part of the PPP's strategy to increase its vote share in specific regions amid efforts to expand its national support base, aligning with the party's broader plan to consolidate its presence in relatively weaker areas and establish itself as a national party.

Co-Chairman Song Eon-seok will attend the opening ceremonies for the campaign offices of candidates Jeong Yeong-cheol for Yeongdong County Mayor and Choi Jae-hyeong for Boeun County Mayor in Chungbuk Province on the 16th.

The party is currently waging an all-out campaign, with its leadership directly supporting candidates in key battlegrounds. Attending launch ceremonies and victory rallies in each region serves to strengthen party unity and build election momentum.

Meanwhile, Democratic Party leader Jeong Cheong-rae visited Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, to attend the opening ceremony of candidate Kim Yong-nam's campaign office, and previously supported candidate Wi Seong-gon for Jeju Governor in Jeju. Candidates from the Jo Guk Innovation Party are also holding office openings, with a significant number of Innovation Party lawmakers expected to attend.
