Rep. Jeong Cheong-rae Criticizes Starbucks 'Tank Day' Event

Jeong Cheong-rae, chief campaign strategist for the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized Starbucks Korea for its 'Tank Day' event held on the anniversary of the May 18th Democratization Movement.

Starbucks Korea used the phrases 'Tank Day' and 'Tap on the Desk' in its tumbler promotion event on the 18th, the anniversary of May 18th.

Rep. Jeong pointed out that the event was reminiscent of the scenes of citizen suppression during the May 18th period. He suggested that Democratic Party campaign officials and candidates should refrain from visiting Starbucks, adding that their presence there could leave a very negative impression on the public.
