Lee Jae-myung Criticizes Musinsa's 'Tap and Earn' Slogan as Mockery of Park Jong-chul's Sacrifice
Lee Jae-myung criticized a past advertisement slogan from fashion platform Musinsa, stating it mocked the sacrifice of martyr Park Jong-chul. Lee shared an image of the Musinsa advertisement on his social media on the 20th, featuring the slogan 'I tapped the desk and it just dried up,' and pointed this out.
The slogan had previously drawn criticism in 2019 for evoking the circumstances of martyr Park Jong-chul's death in 1987 while undergoing police torture. Lee stated the advertisement was 'an insult and mockery of the torture-induced death of martyr Park Jong-chul and the June Democratic Struggle that it ignited.'
'This was reported to me, and I need to verify if it's true,' he added. 'I ask everyone to help verify it together. I hope it's not true, but if it is, it's a truly serious problem.' At the time, Musinsa had apologized after criticism arose that the advertisement slogan was inappropriate.
