Ruling Party Official Criticizes Government Amidst 'Triple Highs' and Rising Apartment Prices
Jang Dong-hyuk, Standing Election Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, held a press conference on the 26th at the party's central headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to voice criticism toward the government and the ruling party. Chairman Jang pointed out that the public is experiencing the 'triple highs' of high prices, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, which are currently straining the nation's economy, as a daily reality.
He mentioned that Seoul apartment prices have risen more than they did during the Moon Jae-in administration, and specifically criticized the current government's real estate policies, noting that even President Lee Jae-myung's own apartment in Bundang has not been sold.
Chairman Jang criticized the 'Fabricated Prosecution Special Prosecutor Bill' as a 'Trial Cancellation Special Prosecutor Bill,' arguing that it undermines the judicial system to secure the acquittal of one individual. He claimed the bill dismantled the prosecution, attacked prosecutors who investigated crimes, and silenced judges who ruled on them. Furthermore, he referenced President Lee Jae-myung's Starbucks controversy, stating, 'This is an attempt to cover up public anger over the trial cancellation special prosecutor with Starbucks,' and directly called it 'President Lee's politics of fear.'
