Cambodian Court Sentences 6 Chinese Gang Members to Life for Murder of Korean University Student

A Cambodian court has sentenced six Chinese gang members to life imprisonment for the murder of a Korean university student, Mr. Park. This verdict comes following the discovery of Mr. Park's death near a criminal compound in Cambodia last August.

Li Guanghao, implicated in the death, is known as an accomplice in the 2023 drug-laced beverage incident in Seoul's Gangnam district. He also had an arrest warrant issued against him in 2024 for attempting to smuggle 4 kilograms of drugs into South Korea.

In Cambodia, where the death penalty is not in effect, life imprisonment is the maximum legal sentence.
