Cho Gab-je Urges Reconsideration of Park Geun-hye's 'Queen of Elections' Title

Cho Gab-je, president of 'Cho Gab-je.com', criticized the 'Queen of Elections' title for former President Park Geun-hye in relation to her election support for the People Power Party (PPP), stating it should be reconsidered and is, in fact, disadvantageous to the PPP. Cho cited Park's past election failures that led to her impeachment, and the party becoming the second-largest in 2016 due to failed nominations, as reasons why the media's 'Queen of Elections' appellation should be re-evaluated.

Cho pointed out that it is a politician's duty for Park to clarify her stance on President Yoon Suk-yeol's 'illegal martial law' allegations and the PPP's internal 'election fraud conspiracy theories' before engaging in election campaigning. He also mentioned that Chu Kyung-ho, a mayoral candidate for Daegu whom Park has been supporting, is on trial for 'charges of engaging in important duties for rebellion,' emphasizing that the martial law issue should not be 'hastily dismissed'.

Cho assessed that Park's election support could empower the 'extreme right-wing judgment theory,' bifurcating the electoral landscape and negatively influencing the swing votes of moderate conservatives and centrists who hold the casting vote, potentially working to the PPP's disadvantage. This analysis suggests it could make it easier for the Democratic Party to campaign on the slogan of 'judging rebellion' and obscure the PPP's initial electoral advantage.

Former President Park Geun-hye has been campaigning in various regions to support PPP candidates, including visiting Daegu's Chilseong Market on May 23, 2026, and was scheduled to visit Seomun Market in Daegu on May 31, 2026.
