Im Eun-seong Selected as Cheongju City Council Speaker Candidate

The Democratic Party of Korea, the majority party in the Cheongju City Council, has selected three-term councilor Im Eun-seong as its candidate for speaker of the 4th integrated Cheongju City Council. Councilor Im is set to be formally confirmed as speaker at a plenary session scheduled for July 1st.

The Democratic Party secured a majority in the Cheongju City Council by winning 27 out of 45 seats in the June 3rd local elections. The party finalized its selection of Councilor Im Eun-seong as the speaker candidate through internal procedures on June 12th.

Following the speaker's election, effective communication and cooperation between the city council and the Cheongju City government will remain crucial. The relationship between local governments and local councils is essential for advancing regional development projects.
