Fact-finding panel seeks accountability from Seoul Election Commission over ballot paper shortage
The fact-finding committee has stated that the Seoul Metropolitan Election Commission should be held accountable for its complacent handling and delayed response to the ballot paper shortage incident during the June 3 local elections.
At the time, the Songpa District Election Commission had anticipated a shortage of ballot papers and notified the Seoul Metropolitan Election Commission, but the latter failed to grasp the severity of the situation in a timely manner.
Ultimately, voting was suspended and complaints poured in. Only after the Central Election Commission belatedly understood the situation did a joint response begin.
