Mayor-elect Jeon Jae-soo Emphasizes Cooperation, Citing 'Citizen Mandate'

Busan Mayor-elect Jeon Jae-soo emphasized cooperation with the City Council, which has become the majority party, on the 15th. He added that the election results were the will of citizens to prevent the mayor from unilaterally running the city.

At a joint meeting of the Busan City Hall and City Council on the same day, Jeon interpreted the election of the People Power Party as the majority party as a 'citizen's command.' He expressed his determination to foster cooperation through concessions and negotiation.

"I will make bold concessions where necessary, but I will also see through what must be achieved," he said, proposing cooperation to the City Council. He added, "I believe the City Council shares the same view, and together we will create the most exemplary model of cooperation in the nation."
