Former Election Commission Chief Noh Tae-ak Received 4.25 Million Won Stipend for Monthly Attendance
Former Central Election Commission Chairman Noh Tae-ak received a stipend of 4.25 million won after attending a regular meeting for just one day last November. According to data obtained by Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Kun-young from the National Election Commission, former Chairman Noh attended a regular meeting in November 2024, worked for one day, and received this amount. It was confirmed that some of the activities on that attendance day were not directly related to election management duties.
Additionally, in January 2024, he attended work for a total of 6 days, three of which included events such as a New Year's reception, a New Year's concert, and the opening ceremony of the Youth Winter Olympics, which were far removed from election duties.
Separately, one of the non-standing election commissioners was paid an activity fee of 2.15 million won per month in October and November 2023, despite not actually attending any meetings.
