Democratic Party Kicks Off Local Election Results Analysis; Focus on Daegu's 20s/30s Support and Gangwon Performance
The Democratic Party has launched a committee to evaluate the results of the June 3 local elections and by-elections for National Assembly members, holding its first meeting.
The Evaluation Committee, comprised of nine members, will spend 15 weeks until the end of September assessing the nomination process and election outcomes before publishing a white paper.
Lee Jae-young, head of the Democratic Institute and co-chair of the committee, stated that the evaluation will focus on 'reflection' and 'expanding influence' rather than 'self-blame,' aiming to analyze factors of victory and defeat to build future assets. Lee Yeon-hee, the committee's secretary, detailed plans to specifically examine the Seoul mayoral election, reasons for the party's strong showing in Gangwon Province, and the analysis of support from the 20s and 30s demographic in Daegu. She explained that the review will encompass the factors behind wins and losses across all metropolitan and local government elections nationwide.
