Park Ji-won: 'Lee Jae-myung is Minjoo Party's Top Asset... Beware of Infighting'
Rep. Park Ji-won of the Democratic Party of Korea has issued a message cautioning against internal party strife, referring to President Lee Jae-myung as the party's 'No. 1 asset.' In a post on Facebook, Park evaluated President Lee, who has completed one year in office, as the Minjoo Party's greatest asset, emphasizing the principle, 'We live if we unite, we die if we fight.'
Park argued that based on President Lee's successful first year, the focus should shift from past conflicts to future-oriented issues such as the people's livelihood economy, reconciliation, and the completion of the three major reforms. He added that by helping President Lee during the next two years, a 'golden time' without elections, and fostering future-oriented competition within the party, the nation, the Democratic Party, and individuals can all survive.
Park warned that if the Democratic Party becomes bogged down in past conflicts, it risks regressing to a world where 'traitors, Yoon-again, Park Geun-hye, and MB roam freely,' or facing defeat in the 2028 general election and a change in government. Citing his experience as a five-term lawmaker and historical evidence, he stressed that if the party receives applause for the first year and spends the remaining four years fighting, the Minjoo Party will have no future.
