Lee Jae-myung Administration Charts Survival Strategy Amid Global Crisis
As the global alliance order falters and crises loom in security and supply chains, a forum is being held to pool the wisdom of diplomacy, security, and economic experts for Korea's survival. The '2026 Korean Peninsula Symposium' will engage in in-depth discussions on strategies to overcome these complex crises and prepare for the future.
Yonhap News, the Ministry of Unification, the Korea Institute for National Security Strategy (KINSTRA), and the Yonhap News Northeast Asia Center are jointly hosting the '2026 Korean Peninsula Symposium'. The symposium will take place on October 26th at the Crystal Ballroom of Lotte Hotel Seoul, under the theme 'Global Complex Crisis and the Korean Peninsula'.
During the opening ceremony, Cheong Wa Dae Spokesperson for Public Communication Sung Ki-hong will read President Lee Jae-myung's congratulatory message, followed by a congratulatory address from National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik. Subsequently, Yonhap News CEO Hwang Dae-il and KINSTRA President Kim Sung-bae will mark the event's commencement with opening and welcome remarks. Unification Minister Jeong Dong-young will deliver the keynote speech, outlining the Lee Jae-myung Administration's policy direction and its strategy for peace-building on the Korean Peninsula amidst the global crisis.
