Former U.S. President Donald Trump has criticized Iran's drone attack on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, labeling it a 'violation of a truce agreement.' On the 26th local time, Trump announced via his social media platform Truth Social that Iran had launched at least four drones at vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

He reported that one of the drones struck a high-value cargo ship, but the vessel was able to continue its voyage. The U.S. stated it had intercepted the other three drones.

This drone attack by Iran comes amidst ongoing concerns about compliance with an earlier memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the U.S. and Iran, which stipulates the end of military operations on all fronts. This incident raises concerns about adherence to related agreements and escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.
