President Lee Jae-myung has directly refuted concerns over water shortages that have arisen in connection with the upcoming semiconductor investment plan for the Honam region, set to be announced on the 29th, stating, "It is possible to supply not just 100 tons, but 1 million tons of industrial water daily."

On the 27th, President Lee shared an article from a media outlet titled 'Does the Government Have a Water Shortage Countermeasure for Semiconductors?' on his social media (X), dismissing the water shortage concerns raised ahead of the planned large-scale semiconductor facility investments by Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix in the Honam region.

President Lee emphasized, "World-leading semiconductor companies, among the top two globally, are not foolish enough to plan super-large factory establishments without review in regions where water is scarce," adding, "Honam has ample water, as much as the Yeongnam or Seoul metropolitan areas."
