80-year-old Husband Denies Murder Charge in Wife's Death Trial

An 80-year-old man, identified as A, who is on trial for allegedly murdering his wife while she was unconscious from sleeping pills, has fully denied the charges. At his first public hearing at the Daejeon District Court on the 25th, A did not admit to the charges, facing trial for the alleged murder of his wife, B, who was reportedly unconscious after taking sleeping medication.

A's defense lawyer argued in court that the charges were untrue, asserting that there was no infidelity on his client's part, nor did he commit the murder. The defense stated that while marital disputes occurred during their over 20-year marriage due to conflict, there was no infidelity or murder.

Prosecutors, however, claim that A committed the crime after experiencing conflict with his wife over infidelity and domestic issues. The prosecution detailed the incident, alleging that A strangled his unconscious wife to death following an argument.
