Daehan Cable Accelerates AI-Driven Innovation in Manufacturing

Daehan Cable is embarking on manufacturing innovation by applying AI technology to its ultra-high voltage cable production process.

Daehan Cable has been selected as a joint research and development institution for the 'Industrial Field Problem-Solving Industrial AI Agent Technology Development (R&D)' project hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology. This project, which will run until December 2028, aims to enhance industrial competitiveness by developing and deploying AI agent technologies that solve real-world industrial problems, as part of the government's Manufacturing AI Grand Transformation (M.AX) strategy.

Daehan Cable plans to form a consortium with smart factory solution companies and others to drive AI-based production innovation using its experience and data from ultra-high voltage cable manufacturing sites, and then apply and demonstrate it in actual processes. Through AI technology, it will analyze production and quality data in real-time to increase process operation efficiency, and simultaneously strengthen productivity and quality stability by predicting and optimizing key variables in the manufacturing process, thereby continuously boosting production competitiveness.

With this national project selection, Daehan Cable will accelerate the establishment of an AI-based production system, strengthening its competitiveness in core power infrastructure fields such as subsea cables and HVDC, and further solidifying its capacity to respond to national key power grid projects like the 'West Coast Energy Highway.'
