South Korea, US, Japan Discuss Countermeasures Against North Korean Cyber Threats

The three countries of South Korea, the United States, and Japan discussed joint response measures to North Korea's cyber threats, particularly to prevent the theft of virtual assets.

During the meeting, specific response measures were intensively discussed regarding North Korea's virtual asset theft, money laundering, and the dispatch of information technology (IT) workers.

A session involving private sector companies for the first time was also held to explore ways to share technological trends and cooperate.

Through this working-level group meeting, the three countries plan to strengthen their joint response capabilities against North Korea's illegal cyber activities and develop practical deterrence strategies that reflect advanced technological trends.
