Anthropic's Claude AI Model Now Runs Natively on Microsoft Cloud

Anthropic's AI model 'Claude' has begun running directly on Microsoft Azure cloud. The $45 billion AI strategic alliance between Anthropic, Nvidia, and Microsoft has achieved its first commercial milestone. The three companies announced on March 29th that Anthropic's 'Claude' model family has been officially deployed on Microsoft Azure cloud, powered by Nvidia systems.

Previously, using Claude on Azure involved calling an external service. Now, it is possible to run Claude directly within the Azure cloud environment. This integration with Microsoft Azure cloud allows Anthropic to expand its dominance in the enterprise market by securing Microsoft customers, in addition to AWS and Google Cloud users.

Azure cloud will offer Anthropic's AI models, including 'Claude Opus 4.8' and 'Claude Haiku 4.5'. This marks the first concrete achievement from the strategic alliance formed last November.

Nvidia supports the operation of Anthropic's AI models based on its systems. Microsoft is broadening the choices for its enterprise customers by incorporating Claude, a competitor model, into its infrastructure alongside OpenAI.
