AI developer Anthropic has released its sixth Economic Index report, 'Cadences,' analyzing AI usage patterns. The report presents findings on AI usage patterns and user perceptions, based on an analysis of actual Claude user data. The report details analyses of AI usage patterns across different times of day, days of the week, and seasons, as well as user perceptions of AI's impact on work, all grounded in real Claude usage data.

AI usage demonstrated patterns closely synchronized with people's life rhythms, including morning news exploration, daytime work email composition, evening recipe searches, and late-night sleep consultations. Social events were also reflected in AI usage, with tax-related queries in the U.S. surging more than eightfold compared to normal periods just before tax filing deadlines.

Ninety-three percent of Claude conversations lead to the generation of tangible results such as explanations, document drafting, application development, and code modification, indicating users are actively employing AI to create outputs needed for work and creative endeavors, moving beyond simple responses. Differences in AI usage methods were observed depending on the nature of the work, with AI showing a tendency to use more computational resources to generate results for tasks in higher-paying professions.

Perception survey results from approximately 9,700 Claude users showed that those who delegate more tasks to AI evaluate their future more optimistically and perceive AI utilization as increasing their own value and capabilities.

Korean users showed a tendency to utilize AI more actively as a tool for practical tasks and decision support compared to the global average. AI usage for purchase and investment-related decision-making was 2.2 times higher than the global average, and usage for creating presentation slides and research was 1.7 times higher than the global average. This suggests that Korean users are actively leveraging generative AI as a tool for work productivity and decision support rather than for creative purposes.

Anthropic analyzes that artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly spreading across the economy and evolving from simple conversational assistants into agent-like services. Data observed to date indicates more cases where AI is used to enhance productivity through collaboration rather than replacing humans. Anthropic stated, 'AI is now reflecting people's daily and work rhythms and rapidly spreading across economic activities,' adding, 'In the future, measuring what tangible results AI produces and what economic value it creates will become more important than simply measuring conversation frequency.'
