Body of Suspected Cohabitant Murder Victim Found in Namhangang River

A body, presumed to be that of a victim in a cohabitant murder and body disposal case earlier this year in Seoul's Gangbuk-gu, was discovered in the Namhangang River on the 1st. A report of "something like a mannequin floating" in the Namhangang River in Yangpyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, was received that afternoon, prompting the dispatch of the fire department to recover the body.

Police are investigating the body as possibly belonging to Lee (30s), who is believed to have been murdered by her live-in partner, Seong (34), in an apartment in Seoul's Gangbuk-gu in January.

Police are considering handing over the body to the Seoul Dobong Police Station, which initially investigated the case, once the identity verification process is complete.
