Kim Jong Un Sends Congratulatory Message to Xi Jinping, Hailing Pyongyang Summit as 'Historic Occasion'
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent a congratulatory message to Chinese President Xi Jinping on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. In the message, Kim assessed Xi Jinping's recent visit to Pyongyang as a 'historic occasion' and emphasized the development of bilateral relations. Kim stated in the message, 'I am willing to continue to sublimate and develop the friendly cooperative relations between Korea and China, a common treasure of the peoples of the two countries, in line with the demands of the times,' while lauding the status and role of the Chinese Communist Party.
Kim recalled President Xi Jinping's visit to Pyongyang and the North Korea-China summit held on June 8-9, emphasizing that the meeting in Pyongyang was a historic occasion that deepened comradely friendship and trust and confirmed the will to vigorously propel the socialist construction and traditional friendly relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, a banquet hosted by Chinese Ambassador to North Korea Wang Yajun was held at the Chinese Embassy in Pyongyang on the 30th of last month to commemorate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. On the North Korean side, Workers' Party of Korea Secretaries Jo Yong Won and Kim Song Nam attended. Prior to the banquet, a 'Discussion on Party Building Experience Exchange between the Workers' Party of Korea and the Communist Party of China' was also held at the embassy.
