Yangpyeong Expressway Controversy: Former Minister Won Hee-ryong Notified of Summons as Suspect

The special prosecutor team initiated the summons notification process to investigate suspicions against former Minister Won, who was identified as a 'higher-up' allegedly involved in ordering the endpoint change, a matter that the previous special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-ki could not resolve.

The previous special prosecutor team led by Min Jung-ki had indicted a director-level official at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport identified as Kim and others on charges of influencing the route change process, but the investigation into the 'higher-ups,' including former Minister Won, remained unresolved.
