Prime Minister Han Seung-suk Appoints Seo Eun-sook as Head of Political Affairs

On the 11th, Prime Minister Han Seung-suk appointed the heads of the Political Affairs Office and the Public Relations Office. Seo Eun-sook, chair of the Democratic Party's Busanjin-gap chapter, was selected for the Political Affairs Office, while Park Hong-hwan, editor-in-chief of Straight News, was selected for the Public Relations Office.

New Political Affairs Head Seo previously served as the mayor of Busanjin District and chair of the Democratic Party's Busan City Chapter, and is currently the vice chair of the Presidential Committee on National Integration. She ran for the Busanjin District mayoral seat in the June 3 local elections but was defeated. In a phone call with the International Newspaper, new Political Affairs Head Seo stated, "I will assist the Prime Minister and work for the Lee Jae-myung administration," adding, "I will look for ways to help Busan."

With the appointment of new Public Relations Head Park, the selection process for the three key office heads within the Prime Minister's Secretariat has been completed. Chae I-bae, a former National Assembly member, was nominated for the position of Chief of Staff, and Na Seong-chul was appointed as the head of the Civil Affairs Office in May.
