Ko Min-jung, a candidate for the Democratic Party leadership, urged responsible legislation regarding the complete abolition of supplementary investigative power on the Nth, stating, "The attitude of simply saying we'll fix things if problems arise is not befitting the ruling party."

Candidate Ko raised concerns about a realistic vacuum in investigations rather than ideological clarity during a policy declaration meeting held at the National Assembly Member's Office Building that day, citing cases of socially vulnerable individuals who are easily victimized.

Rep. Lee So-young also posted on her Facebook expressing concerns over the abolition of the supplementary investigative power. Rep. Lee argued that a decision should be made after the election, citing concerns over the distortion of discussions within the party.
