Police Search Cheongju City Councilor A Amid Investigation into Sexual Misconduct with Minor

Police conducted a raid on the office and residence of Cheongju City Council member A, who is under suspicion for the sexual exploitation of a minor and the production of sexual exploitation materials. Authorities are currently analyzing the seized evidence.

According to police, Councilor A is suspected of demanding sexual relations from a middle school student he met via a messaging app by offering cigarettes or money, and illegally filming the act.

Councilor A is a first-term lawmaker elected with the People Power Party in the June 3 local elections. A has maintained his innocence, claiming he has never been convicted or put on trial, and stated that he will explain the situation at a later time.
