PPP Leader Jang Dong-hyeon Challenges Han Dong-hoon's Reinstatement Rationale, Asking 'Should Mayor Choo Kyung-ho Also Be Punished?'

People Power Party (PPP) Leader Jang Dong-hyeon appeared on PnM TV on the 15th to criticize former PPP leader Han Dong-hoon’s push for reinstatement. Jang argued that Han’s justification for rejoining the party was invalid, pointing out that Han had not participated in the vote to lift martial law.

Leader Jang cited the court testimony of lawmaker Ahn Cheol-soo. Regarding Ahn’s testimony, Jang posed a rhetorical question: if the claim continues to be that the testimony is false, does that imply Mayor Choo Kyung-ho should be punished as an accomplice to treason?

Jang’s criticism comes amid deepening internal conflict within the PPP over responsibility for the martial law incident, with internal divisions continuing over whether to allow former leader Han’s return to the party.
