Ford CEO Foresees Possible Chinese Automaker Entry into US Market Within 10 Years
Ford CEO Jim Farley stated during an internal event on the 30th (local time) that Chinese automobile manufacturers are likely to enter the U.S. market within the next 5 to 10 years, emphasizing the cost and efficiency competitiveness of Chinese firms.
Ford is preparing to launch a low-cost electric vehicle lineup designed from scratch to match the cost and efficiency levels of Chinese companies.
The U.S. is currently blocking direct imports of Chinese electric vehicles with tariffs of nearly 100%, and is enforcing regulations that ban Chinese software from 2027 models and Chinese hardware from 2030 models.
In preparation for competition with Chinese firms, Ford has established a joint venture with China's Geely in Europe and is accelerating efforts to regain competitiveness in the European market, where Chinese companies are rapidly expanding their market share.
