Gyeongnam Province Bids for Integrated Power Utility HQ…Plans to Utilize Korea Midland Power’s Jinju Building
Gyeongnam Province has launched a bid to attract the 'integrated headquarters' for state-owned power generation companies.
Vice Governor Park stated that using the Korea Midland Power (KOMIPO) building as the integrated headquarters would allow for savings on relocation costs. He emphasized that Gyeongnam is the optimal location, citing its proximity to major power plants in Hadong and Samcheonpo, as well as the cluster of energy businesses and research institutes including Doosan Enerbility, Hyosung Heavy Industries, and the Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute (KERI).
Vice Governor Park also expressed the province's position regarding the retention of the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) headquarters and opposition to the relocation of the Naval Academy.
