Busan Mayor Jeon Jeong-sik meets PPP Chair Lee Seong-kwon for first time to discuss regional issues

Busan Mayor Jeon Jeong-sik of the Democratic Party of Korea and People Power Party (PPP) Busan Chapter Chairman Lee Seong-kwon held their first meeting since the latter's inauguration, initiating bipartisan cooperation to secure a second round of public institution relocations and government funding for the upcoming year.

The two sides agreed to convene a Budget and Policy Consultative Meeting at an early date to establish a strategy for securing state funds.

With interests diverging over the establishment of a financial hub, Chairman Lee emphasized the need to focus capabilities on the relocation of the Korea Development Bank (KDB). Conversely, Mayor Jeon expressed his stance on simultaneously pursuing KDB's relocation and the creation of the Southeast Asia Investment Agency to build a financial ecosystem.
