President Lee Jae-myung Apologizes to Victims of State Violence, Launching Truth and Reconciliation Commission
President Lee Jae-myung bowed his head and offered an official apology at a consolation lunch held at the presidential office on the 7th, where he invited victims of state violence to mark the launch of the third Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
Truth and Reconciliation Commission Chairman Song Sang-hyo assessed President Lee’s apology as the first act representing the nation and a historic milestone for the restoration of honor.
Chairman Song stated that the third Commission would do its utmost with a sense of desperation, recognizing it as the final opportunity for a complete resolution of past history.
