Andong City, Uiseong County Designated as Special Disaster Areas Following Heavy Rain Damage

President Lee Jae-myung declared four myeon (subdivisions) under the jurisdiction of Andong City and Uiseong County in North Gyeongsang Province as special disaster areas on the 7th, following damage caused by heavy rains last month.

The declaration of special disaster zones follows an investigation into rain damage that occurred in the region from the 8th to the 24th of last month.

Moving forward, additional government subsidies will be provided for disaster recovery, and affected residents will benefit from administrative and financial measures, including extensions on national and local tax payments and reductions in public utility fees.
