Kim Min-seok Takes 1st in Jeju-Incheon Party Member Vote... Beats Chung Cheong-rae by 5%p

Democratic Party leadership candidate Kim Min-seok secured first place in the party member preference vote in the Jeju and Incheon regions on the 8th, garnering 22,537 votes (47.75%) and defeating candidate Chung Cheong-rae (19,862 votes, 42.08%) by a margin of 5.67 percentage points.

Candidate Song Young-gil received 4,799 votes (10.17%), placing third.

According to the party's Election Management Committee, the vote was conducted online and via ARS from the 4th until today among privileged party members. The final results, which will include the second-preference votes if no candidate secures a majority in the first round of the regional tour, are scheduled to be announced at the national convention on the 17th.
