Police Investigate Bomb Threat Against Seoul's Yeouido Hangang Park

Police have launched an investigation after a terrorist threat demanding money while claiming to have planted a bomb at Yeouido Hangang Park in Seoul was reported.

The Seongbuk Police Station received a report from a citizen at around 2:25 a.m. on the 9th stating that a post with the content "Damage will occur if 10 million won is deposited" had been uploaded to a broadcaster's reporting portal.

Police are cooperating with the Yeongdeungpo Police Station to deploy special forces teams to the Hangang Park area and verify whether a bomb has been planted. Police are tracking the writer on suspicion of making threats. As the identity or IP address of the writer has not yet been identified, police are investigating the case in the internal inquiry stage, which precedes formal booking.
