Kentucky Teacher Arrested for Alleged Inappropriate Relationship with Minor Student
A middle school teacher in Mayfield, Kentucky, Sadie M. Flores, 25, was arrested Friday on charges of having an inappropriate relationship with and psychologically grooming a minor student.
This case has been identified as the first prosecution under Kentucky's new 'anti-grooming' law, which took effect on July 15. The law criminalizes and strengthens penalties for acts involving the psychological manipulation of minors for sexual exploitation.
The Graves County Sheriff's Office conducted investigative actions, including seizing electronic records and interviewing relevant parties, to prove Flores's charges. The investigative team secured evidence through the analysis of electronic device data.
The Graves County School District reported the alleged offenses to the Sheriff's Office immediately upon becoming aware of them. Superintendent Matt Madding stated that district officials reported the information to law enforcement shortly after identifying it, and the prosecution of the teacher was decided based on the investigation's findings. The school district is cooperating with the judicial process with child safety as its top priority, and Madding emphasized that student safety is a core value of the district.
