Anthropic's Claude Code Adopts 'Watermarks,' Detection Tool Remains Unreleased

Invisible markers are embedded within documents and images. On the 12th, Anthropic announced the application of 'digital watermarks' across all products, which imprint source information on text and files for newly released models.

This measure follows the transparency regulations of the EU AI Act, which entered into force on August 2, 2026, and is effective from that date.

To ensure compliance, Anthropic has decided to automatically leave machine-readable markers on text and images.
