Turkey Aims to Launch Domestically Developed Lunar Probe Early Next Year

Turkey is preparing to launch a domestically developed lunar probe into space early next year. Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced on the 13th (local time) at a Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK) event, "We plan to launch a domestically developed lunar probe early next year."

Minister Kacır noted that the domestic hybrid propulsion system has completed all testing phases. A hybrid rocket utilizes a combination of solid fuel and a liquid oxidizer.

Minister Kacır highlighted Turkey's successes in various satellite launch projects, including Bilsat, Rasat, Göktürk-2, Türksat 6A, and Imece, stating, "We hope to realize this dream by securing the technological capability that only a very few countries in the world have achieved."
