Lee Tae-han and Lee Hyek Selected as Candidates for Special Counsel on June 3 Local Elections

Former Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office Senior Prosecutor Lee Tae-han and former Seoul High District Prosecutor Lee Hyek were confirmed on the 14th as candidates for special counsel to investigate the ballot shortage during the June 3 local elections, following a unanimous decision by the recommendation committee. The candidates were selected from a list of personnel submitted by the Korean Bar Association.

Candidate Lee Tae-han is an attorney at the law firm Dongin, and candidate Lee Hyek is the lead attorney at the law firm Lee & Lee.

Under the Special Counsel Act, the President must appoint one candidate by the 17th. Once appointed, the special counsel will launch the investigation following a preparation period of up to 20 days.
